Abstract

Executive Summary

This submission primarily focuses on analysing the present approaches of the United States (US) and rising powers to multilateralism and their future implications for the United Kingdom (UK).

It challenges the assertion that the US is retreating from the multilateral system and includes a debate on how the two main US political parties view multilateralism.

It also explores the perspectives of China, India, South Africa, and Brazil on the UK and the multilateralism system, how their approaches have evolved and what they seek to change.
