Discusses the Court of Appeal judgments in: (1) Fareham BC v Miller on whether a local authority's decision to offer an anti-social tenant "another chance" conditional on his adherence to the conditions of the licence on which he was released from prison had revoked its notice to quit; and (2) Leicester City Council v Shearer on whether the authority had acted unlawfully in bringing possession proceedings against a trespasser without first considering if exceptional circumstances applied to allow the option of granting her a direct let of the property.
