Returning to the Core - Rediscovering a Role for Real Estate in Defined Contribution Pension Schemes

Harrison, D, Blake, D. ORCID: 0000-0002-2453-2090 & Key, T. (2013). Returning to the Core - Rediscovering a Role for Real Estate in Defined Contribution Pension Schemes. London, UK: The Pensions Institute, ISSN 1367-580X.

Abstract

Under Government legislation, private sector employers must auto-enrol (A-E) their employees in a defined contribution (DC) qualifying pension scheme. The research argues that real estate should once more be classified as a core asset and DC and real estate professionals must better understand each other’s professions to maximize the role of real estate in the default fund pension schemes.
