Abstract
In this thesis we investigate the Almansi representation of biharmonic functions in terms of two harmonic functions. Our results extend a previous investigation by Bergman and Schiffer. Also they have an interesting application to the Papkovich-Neuber representation of linear elastostatic displacement vectors in terms of harmonic functions.
