Abstract

Well-defined policies play a critical role in ensuring academic and research integrity in higher education. This chapter delves into past scholarship in the topic domain of the importance of preserving academic integrity values through policy formulation and implementation in higher educational institutions (HEIs). We highlight key principals for policy development at an institutional level and the potential impact of effective policy implementation on HEIs. This chapter provides practical recommendations on how to formulate effective policies, while highlighting the role of policies in academic integrity research.
